“If you haven't been here yet, you need to! Came here last night for my work holiday party and all of us had an absolute blast! We shared 2 mushroom tarts, they were exquisite, a crepe, the charcuterie board and 2 Clafoutis to start, all of us had our own favorites. We also shared the Green Bean Salad (very refreshing) and the Burgal salad, which is a barley salad, we were pleasantly surprised with this! We ordered one of every side dish and we had to order a second helping of the beets! People, including myself, got the Beef stew in their rye bread bowl (which was better than any beef stew I've had in restaurants and the bread bowl definitely helped make it! Just be careful they leave the bay leaves and stems in!), the lamb shoulder (which I had a bite of and I personally believe is the best in the city!), the cod (again, I got a bite of and was very happy with), the salmon, and the pork roulade. For dessert we shared the beignets (which were a table favorite), the walnut tart, the invitation cake (which had the consistency of AMAZING fudge!), the pumpkin bread pudding and the Apple Cake (which was another table favorite). We also ordered shots of Fernet, a serving of green chartreuse, and a Jasmine tea (French press with loose leaf tea). We did call and ask if we could bring our own wine, which they allowed. All together, the 8 of us ate wonderful food with attentive staff and had an amazing time, and our bill was only $511 and some change! This has easily become my new favorite restaurant to come to before the late shows or after the early shows at the Playhouse!”
“First time here and I’m not even being dramatic when I say this is the best food I’ve had in my life. We had the fried shrimp that comes with fries, coleslaw and Mac and cheese and everything was more than exceptional I have no words. They only serve it during lent but this is my way of saying keep it on the menu full time!!!! Also our server Veroniqua (AKA bella) made the experience even better. Such a kind soul. If you find yourself in downtown Cle I highly highly recommend coming here”
“We were absolutely thrilled to host our recent event at The Friar’s Table. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional and memorable in every way. The food was simply outstanding, with compliments to the chefs for not only the incredible flavors but also the beautiful presentation. Every dish felt intentional, thoughtful, and crafted with care. Our guests are still raving about the meal. A special thank you to Brother Phil, who generously took the time to speak with us and share more about The Friar’s Table's mission. His presence and passion brought even deeper meaning to our experience. We can’t say enough about General Manager Jon Bosworth. His communication was impeccable from the very beginning. Every detail we discussed was executed perfectly and nothing was overlooked. Jon made the planning process smooth, and his professionalism and warmth truly set the tone for the entire event. Highly recommend The Friar’s Table for any group looking for a meaningful, elevated, and expertly managed dining experience. We’ll absolutely be back.”
