“I started going to the Hyatt Place when I came to the Cleveland area because I was a long time member of Hyatt's rewards club (member since 1990) so I would earn points. It is located in a great location - there is a Giant Eagle grocery (with a state liquor store inside the grocery) within walking distance as well as an upscale outside mall with a variety of stores and restaurants across the walkway of the hotel. There is also a Heinen's (a very nice grocery store) in the area (not walkable) with plenty of made daily sandwiches etc to pick up for dinner as well as a Whole Foods (again not in walking distance but a 5 min drive). One of the things I really appreciate is the front desk/check in staff is ALWAYS so pleasant. After a long day of travel, lay overs, delays, it is such a pleasure to come into contact with a lovely person when checking in to your hotel or simply receiving your key if you've already checked in via the Hyatt app. The rooms/bathrooms are always clean and the beds/pillows are comfy. A good selection on the TV including HBO and all news channels. The parking is safe in a covered garage which is a minute walk and next to the hotel. As a woman, it feels completely safe, close by and well lighted. However I'm sure a Hyatt Place employee would accompany you to your car if you asked. This is a nice, quiet, clean hotel with a no-cost breakfast buffet-type of breakfast. It includes coffee, tea, eggs, usually a sausage, bagels, fresh fruit and sometimes pancakes. Again, the breakfast area is also clean and well kept. I'm not much of a breakfast person, but I do like their scrambled eggs with hot sauce. There is also an office work area with computers, a printer and scanner available at no charge.”
“On our second night in the hotel. I woke up to bug bites and found bed bugs in the room. The response from the staff was lackluster at best. They put our clothes in their dryer which we appreciated. They did not put us in a new room until we pushed them for it. They also did not apologize at all or offer a refund. They told us we would hear from the hotel about a refund. Completely unacceptable and a disgusting situation.”
“I just finished a 5-day stay here, and there was no indication at check-in—or at any point when we requested basic items—that housekeeping wouldn’t be provided. On day 3, housekeeping showed up at 8:30 AM on Thanksgiving morning and woke us up. We asked them to come back later, but they never returned, and there was no housekeeping for the rest of the stay. Trash and towels quickly piled up on the floor. That night we scheduled housekeeping for the following day (day 4). The next morning, we even ran into the housekeeper while leaving. They asked if we were checking out; we told them no and that we’d be out all day so they could clean. Despite this, no one ever came. I also had to go to the front desk multiple times just to get basic essentials like towels, cups, tissues, and toilet paper. For a stay of this length, the lack of service and follow-through was incredibly frustrating. I won’t be booking here again.”
