What Visitors Say
Disgraceful, Dignity robbing Deceptive Despots "Ohio's $10,000 home modification grants, often from programs like USDA's Section 504 or the state's Housing Assistance Grant, fund critical health, safety, and accessibility upgrades: think ramps, grab bars, accessible bathrooms, roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and eliminating hazards for low-income seniors or families to stay safe at home. These funds cover repairs and renovations that improve well-being, not just aesthetics, ensuring homes meet essential living standards. " Our experience is that WAAA feels the funds are coming out of their own personal pockets or that they get some benefit or reward for NOT distributing the funds. Not sure at this point if its criminal or incompetence... this nightmare of games began in Aug 2025 ....after months of lying about their inability to help mom with a wheelchair lift, her "care" manager deceiving, discouraging, delaying and impeding the process of applying for the 10,000.00 funding all disabled persons are eligible for once per each calendar year ... then the WAAA delaying and not putting the work out for bid after mom was approved for the funding, then concealing that other funding is available for bids over the 10,000 initial grant amount... having CareSource and Medicaid reach out to the WAAA on NUMEROUIS occasions and on documented and recorded lines... We get a call on December 18, 2025 at 12:40pm that mom will have to reapply next year as they(WAAA) will no longer be in charge of the funding beginning in January. This is AFTER a contractor was found and eligible to use both forms of funding to cover his bid of 13,000.00. And was under the impression was awarded the job had contacted us on November 22 2025 to have his concrete guy look over the job to see if he had to get a permit from the city for the concrete work. This agency is either incompetent or fraudsters in my opinion. They have swindled my mother out of needed home modification funding for the year 2025. We could have had a different project done with that once a year 10,000 funding. Maybe a chair lift so she could get upstairs to shower, or grab bars, , walk-in shower, better lighting, and fall prevention features... *******WAAA robbed her of any of that for 2025.******** They ensured through seeming deceit, malice and intent to not provide her for any reason the 10,000 funding she was/is intitled to. Just a peak into our experience. Do NOT let them do this to you or your loved ones. Record ALL contact with them and their representatives. Stay on top of applications. And DEMAND answers and timely approvals. File Complaints with the Attorney General and Ohio Department of Medicaid and any other entity you can think of. I pray you and yours have a better experience then we have. But will advise if you have any other venue, pursue it. Avoid the unnecessary stress put upon the disabled and their caregivers and the unending games this organization shamefully engages in. Disgraceful, Dignity robbing Deceptive Despots
2 months agoMy mother has a case worker from there she is very unprofessional. Got into a argument with aid then called aps due to my step dad falling out of bed and blacked his eye. Continues to believe he is being abused by the aid and he absolutely isn't. I would never recommend this company
a year agoThey do not follow through with updates or phone calls for medical devices. You have to keep calling and leaving a message to speak with your case manager. The only option is leaving a message and they do not call back. Very poor service.
a year agoTwo years with the company, they are not compassionate, tell lies about services offered just to get companion sitters who are lazy, ask to borrow money etc. This is unbelievable why have a caregiver when the person are not able to accommodate to doctors appts. Food shopping etc. Case western reserve assistance is nit for a person with chronic ailments. Disgusted in Ohio
a year agoThe worst encounter I have ever had. My case manager and her supervisor yelled at me and called me names and here I am with stage 3 heart failure unbelievable, heartless women. Because of them I have to go through a state hearing to leave their nasty agency.
