3 weeks agoGood museum must call or email to get an appointment to see museum. Museum is rather larger has free street Parking on the weekends and paid meter parking on main road during the day side street available to park also for free. Largest collection of Slovenians outside of Slovenia.brief history of how the Slovenians started Cleveland style polka. Many different sections to museum offering different things of people's interest. Has a small area that accepts donations and where you can buy things.
2 years agoWe saw an amazing candlelight jazz concert at this beautiful venue. The band played all the music from our favorite divas (Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone. We will go back for more concerts and recommend it to everyone!

INSPIRED BY PTUJ, SLOVENIA, DESIGNED FOR CLEVELAND, OHIO About Us Cleveland Kurentovanje (koo-rehn-toh-VAHN-yeh) is a multi-day "Slovenian Mardi Gras" festival, celebrating the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Founded in 2012, with the first event held in 2013, we host a multi-day festival filled with cultural and festive events, which culminates in a day-long Parade & Festival celebration on Saturday complete with costumes, a parade, ethnic food and drink, musical and cultural performances, and Kurents — mythical creatures who are believed to chase away winter and usher in spring. Cleveland Kurentovanje is a volunteer-run organization founded in 2013. Cleveland Kurentovanje is a program of the Slovenian Museum and Archives. Our Mission The mission of Cleveland Kurentovanje is to promote and celebrate Slovenian culture by offering a fun and lively festival which draws energy from all of its related events to contribute to the St. Clair-Superior Neighborhood, all while engaging local, national and global audiences.
