Playhouse Square: Cleveland Performing Arts Theater Guide

It’s rare to find a place that feels as much like a "crown jewel" for a city as Playhouse Square does for Cleveland. Whether you’re there for a massive production like Hamilton or something more niche like a comedy magic show, the environment is half the experience. The theaters themselves are masterpieces of architecture. It’s easy to spend the entire intermission just looking at the intricate murals and those massive chandeliers. Beyond the aesthetics, the staff and the "RedCoat" volunteers are incredibly welcoming; they clearly take pride in the history of the place, and it shows in how they treat the guests. For a smooth visit, the Playhouse Square garage is the way to go. Being able to take the covered walkway from the second floor directly into the theaters makes it incredibly convenient, especially if the Cleveland weather isn't cooperating. Even if you don't have show tickets, I highly recommend checking out their public tours. It's a beautifully preserved piece of history that everyone in the area should experience at least once.

Broadway outside NYC, but with a safer area and easygoing surrounding. The Connor Palace is a masterpiece, worth the visit. Playhouse Square is gold in downtown Cleveland, keeping the area strong, alive, and unique. Proud to see!

The closest you will get to Broadway outside of New York. This is a very large theater complex. Excellent sight lines for every seat. The tickets are very reasonable on the price. The season ticket pass is a really good deal as well. You can see 7 or 8 shows a year for as little as $15 a month. If there is a show on Broadway you want to see, it will be at Playhouse in a year or 2. There is always an excellent show lineup every season. In my opinion, a season pass is a must if you live near or in Cleveland.

Phenomenal shows, just as phenomenal red coat staffers & hospitality ! This historical theater is incredibly beautiful, stunning marble staircases and elegant wall paintings, floor coverings! Playhouse Square sponsors events from various Broadway theater companies, dance companies, &hosts international* performances _ as well as local troupes & performing artists from Cleveland; it is also a concert hall so whatever type of entertainment you are looking for --> it will likely be on Playhouse Square event calendar SOON!
