HEDGE Gallery: Cleveland Art Gallery Guide

The most important contemporary art gallery in Cleveland regarding its place in the emerging and established art scene. Incredible energy and focused on key players including current artists Mark Howard +Douglas Max Utter. Director Hillary G is the ultimate curator.

Absolutely love the HEDGE Gallery and the staff—my wife and I recently got married in HEDGE and held our reception in the smARTspace on the floor below. We seriously couldn't have asked for a better venue. 1) Our guests were obsessed with the "industrial meets creative spirit" vibe of the entire space. From the HEDGE Gallery to the 60+ studios spread throughout the 78th St Studios building, there's a ton of talent to be discovered. If you're not into the traditional "church and banquet hall" wedding, you should make sure to check out this space. 2) The staff was incredible to work with. Hilary is one of the sweetest people and she really knows her damn stuff. She was super well organized throughout planning and day-of-coordination. Having her as a buffer between vendors, relatives, guests and more really enabled us to enjoy our day and not sweat the details. But it's not just the day-of-coordination—she's available for so much advice and local connections for the planning of the wedding itself. We can't imagine having gone through the wedding without her and her team. 3) You have a lot of flexibility with this space to make it your own for your wedding. A lot of the venues we checked out in Cleveland seemed a bit too restrictive on personalizations / packaged too much of the wedding in ways that seemed cookie cutter. Not so for 78th St Studios and HEDGE Gallery. You have the freedom to choose your vendors, your decor and more with few limits. That said, we highly recommend you do as much as you can through Hilary and her team. She'll give you fair prices on decor, floral arrangements, and more. Honestly we wish we would have left EVERYTHING we could have to her team as the few things we didn't send their way were the things that caused the most stress....! All that to say, we loved our time at the HEDGE Gallery and recommend it for any upcoming weddings. We'll be sure to visit the next time we're in town!

This place is amazing. They have 3rd Fridays where you can walk through the exhibits and grab a cocktail. A must when in CLE next.

Amazing art and vibe with fabulous curation by Hilary Ghent. You won't be disappointed when you're looking for something incredible. Also don't hesitate to ask for commissioned pieces by her artists for that unique spot that deserves it. Thank you Hilary for being a gallery that Clevelanders can be proud of.

Had our wedding at the Hedge Gallery!! It was seriously so perfect I can't even express how grateful I am to have worked with Aireonna and Hillary at the Hedge Gallery to coordinate all the wedding details. We had about 74 guests at the wedding which was, imo, ideal for the space. Beautiful space, great people, would highly recommend.
