What Visitors Say
“People say this park offers beautiful walking trails and opportunities to see nature. They highlight the recent renovations, including new bridges and benches, and the peaceful and clean atmosphere. They also like the friendly and enthusiastic staff.”
What brings us to Garfield Heights….This was the first trail my little one set both feet to the ground on. I still remember him being wobbly & reaching up for my hand. We visited today, almost a decade later. It’s received quite the upgrade. They’ve built additional bridges for walking & added benches. It’s very pretty. If you want a strong start, park in the management parking & then walk left. You’ll hit a trail w a nice incline. There were many families barbecuing and celebrating birthdays. Everyone looked to be having a good day! On our way back to parking, we came across a gal with an exhibit. She was really friendly and enthusiastic. She showed us several creatures that she pulled from the fishing pond. She taught us about which creatures are tolerant of pollution & not. They use them to help determine water pollution levels. Unfortunately, they’ve been finding many that have a high tolerance for pollution and less of others. Still, The Gem of Garfield Heights.
7 months agoExcellent update to a classic design at a park with character and beauty. The addition of a boathouse and the ability to paddle board and kayak and fish is going to be a great addition to the community. The trails have always been interesting and some features offer pleasant surprises. Plan a visit and explore
a year agoGreat little spot located in Garfield Park reservation. Plenty of walking paths in the area. Great place to picnic. Has a pavilion and a new pavilion is just been completed. August 2025 the restoration has been completed. There are plenty of brand new trails to see plus the restored bridge and fishing area. There is also a kayak launch.
7 months agoMy girlfriend and I visited this newly renovated public park yesterday and were really impressed -- me especially, since I group up in the area and remember what it looked like before the renovation. I mean, it wasn't bad back then in the nineties and oughts... But now it is just gorgeous! T he newly restored pond was like glass, and the new walking paths around the pond made for excellent views. A great place to take photos!
a year agoThe park has been around for a long time , 1894 but they just added a new section and it's gorgeous. A huge program center, a pond to kayak and more trails.
