Escape Room Cleveland: Cleveland Amusement Center Guide

I like Escape Room Cleveland but this particular location was extremely disappointing. To preface, my partner and I have done many other escape rooms (some with my children) and this is probably the worst one we’ve done so far. It was excessively hot in the “Cabin in the Woods” game room. It was really warm in the first room and then got much worse once the second room was opened. We eventually had to walk out because I got really overheated and had to cool myself down. My partner was also starting to get extremely hot as well. I’m autistic and really heat sensitive. I was sweating profusely and my face was burning. It eventually got to the point that I was having issues thinking and focusing because of how overheated I was in the second part of the room. We decided at that point that it was probably best to just leave. I had to sit on the bench outside for a bit to cool down. (I think it would be great if they had at least fans going in this room or a window open to get rid of excess heat.) This experience started off okay but we felt rushed into the room (and we were like 20 minutes early) without much introduction other than the theme video. The young man working the Escape Room seemed very aloof, present elsewhere, and robotic in his tone… Almost like he didn’t really want to be there. We were told to choose these small flashlights and it was hard to complete puzzles or tasks with them while we were holding them the whole time. We couldn’t see what we were doing. We found it odd that this room didn’t have a board to write on either. I’m not sure if that’s on purpose or accidental. Most other escape rooms give you a “boogie board” to write things on. Beyond that, there was yarn or string on a puzzle that was falling apart and hard to use. It kept fraying into multiple strands and wouldn’t stay on some of the nails (some of which were badly bent). The restroom at this location was not very clean either and seemed to also be used as a storage closet. We have been to another branch of this particular franchise in Middleburg Heights, and the woman working there was incredibly helpful, cheerful, and willing to help us as needed. That facility was also pretty clean, wasn’t overheated, and more welcoming. I don’t dislike this franchise but this particular location in North Olmsted is less than ideal.

This was a great team building experience. I was a bit skeptical about all of it at first but the staff was great and gave us just enough information to make it interesting. Great Job! We will be back to attempt more!

Definitely will be back. Did the bank heist room last week with my son and niece and nephew and although we didn’t escape we had a blast. Came back the next weekend and did the Sherlock room and escaped and had the best time. Jeremiah was awesome and we will definitely be back !

Raymond is by far the best game master I ever had in all of these locations! He actually cares for all the games and the people like us! By far the best location just because of him! Going to keep coming back just for him to take care of us, thanks Raymond!!

We had a good time. We went on one of the harder ones which I feel like they definitely should have a reading on skill and how many players. But it was really awesome. Even just the layout of the place was stellar. Kid was adamant about trying to help us out haha might come back and try something else a bit easier
