This place is amazing! It reminds me so much of Oregon. The gorge is incredible. I highly recommend going here for a hike. They have easy to more difficult trails.
a year agoGreatt views, clearly identified trails. It has a wide range of accessibility from paved "all-purpose" trail to navigating rocks across the river (not that I would do this based on signage, but it was a common occurrence by visitors). Nice park area for smaller kids. Out down your screens and GO OUTSIDE!!!
5 months agoGreat place to day hike. Plenty of hiking and bridal trails to explore. Par course on the AP trail. There is even a section for orienteering. They did however remove some of the port-a-potties. Restroom can be found at the Nature center. Completed the new extension of the Gorge Loop.
6 months agoOverall short walk to a very nice and fun waterfall area. Not too many barriers to keep you from respectfully enjoying a beautiful area.
a year agoBeautiful new addition to the Metropark Emerald necklace! The new Gorge Loop takes you down to the bottom of the gorge (be sure to wear proper shoes & grab your trekking poles). Gorgeous views from all the spectacular colors that fall has to offer! The stone stairs can be slickery (no handrails) use caution! Great place for family walks, taking in a run, or walk about! They do have benches along the trails (clearly marked signage) and there is a pavilion. Trash receptacles are on the trails do your part and keep the parks and Watershed clean from rubbish. I would definitely recommend hiking, check out the legend and take a hike! #gooutside #goofftrail #takeitoffline
