Bow Wow Beach: Cleveland Dog Park Guide

This was our first time out to bow wow beach with both of our dogs our younger dog loves the water. And we thought that she would like it out there and our older one typically doesn't, but by the end of the day the little 1 had actually waited out for a little more. It was amazing.They both loved it to death and we plan on coming back

Local realtor and dog dad …. He loves the water so this was so much fun for him ! Bow wow beach has a separate space for small dogs if they don’t want to be near water or other dogs. There’s poop bag stations everywhere and shade with seating all over. Great place to take your pup!

This place was AWESOME. So much room to run and also the lake! And the best part was it was all fenced in !! And there were benches and tables for us humans.

Bow wow Beach is just as it is described. A lake with room around it for dogs to run and play. This was our first visit, and it came the day after a rain. That was probably ill-advised, because it made the park smell very much like a dog park. I'm sure it would not be that way on a dry day. There was plenty of parking, and it's part of a larger park with other amenities. There's also an unusually large small dog park attached. It does not have lake access, but it is very big, grassy and lovely compared to most of the postage stamps UC for smaller dogs. The folks we talked to were very nice, and there were plenty of places along the way to sit down in the shade. You do have to remember, that if you take your dog here, you will need to give it a bath afterwards. You might also want to bring a towel and your own water, in the vain attempt to keep your dog from drinking from the lake. My dog did not go into the lake all that much, but everything is muddy. The proof is in the pudding though, and my dog had an absolutely wonderful time. She ran and played and just had a lovely adventure. She's the pretty beagle in the pics. I think we'll go back, although it is a bit of a hike for us. But on a nice day when you want a drive, this is definitely a good destination.

Wonderful park that has simply gone to the dogs! Literally! This park has something for every dog. The lake water is treated... but is not safe for human... of course. There are plenty of signs letting you know in case the obvious was not good enough. There is plenty of shade and there are separate areas for small and large dogs. But the small dog area does not have dedicated lake access. There is an obstacle course and plenty of room for dogs to roam. There are port a potties available for humans😀. As well as several benches available. Small children are not allowed inside the fence for safety reasons. But unfortunately that is not always followed. It is also against the rules to bring and food inside... both for dogs and humans. But again... not always followed. The park used to be a swim lake... but that was a very long time ago. The buildings are still there from that time... but they are planned to be torn down. There is an area to wash your dogs as you exit. Bring towels for the ride home!
