What reviewers say about Ohio City Burrito
People say this Mexican restaurant serves fresh, flavorful burritos and bowls. They highlight the affordable prices and large portions. They also like the fast service and convenient, casual atmosphere.
“This place was very good! I ordered a burrito bowl which was extremely filling! I was able to get 3 meals out of it. They had many options to choose from to fill up the bowl which was nice. Much more than Chiptole! It tasted very fresh and good! It was also gluten free which was very nice! I would definitely stop by here again in the future!”
“I've tried Ohio City Burrito twice now, and while I really, really wanted to like this place based on reviews and recommendations, both of my visits have been super mediocre. The burritos just aren't that great unfortunately. While the ingredients do look fresh, I just found my food to be quite bland and nothing outstanding at all. It doesn't have a flavor that I would return to; it tastes like every other average Mexican restaurant out there. Regarding the ingredients specifically, Ohio City Burrito has some bizarre policies. Firstly, while guacamole is free here (unlike Chipotle), the amount of guacamole I received on my burrito was absolutely minuscule. There was absolutely no way you would be able to taste the guacamole in the burrito due to the serving size; it must've been one tablespoon or less. Second, you must choose between beans and fajita veggies. Because the fajita veggies looked uncooked and unappetizing, and tasted as such the previous time I had tried this place, I elected refried beans which is at least a unique menu option compared to Chipotle. I will commend Ohio City Burrito for its larger selection of sauces compared to Chipotle. What I won't commend them for, however, is their complete lack of spice in any ingredient. Chipotle suffers from this problem too, but I elected to receive pretty much every "spicy" ingredient and yet my burrito still tasted bland as ever. So disappointing. The burrito also came out to be more expensive than what I would pay at Chipotle, meaning I have no real reason to go here over Chipotle. The service was good at least; no issues there. I also like the larger menu of Ohio City Burrito compared to Chipotle. I found it weird that the bathroom door did not seem to have a lock on it or even close properly, but maybe this was a skill issue on my part. You're not going to read this and decide whether to go here based on that, anyway. I probably won't come back here, and instead choose the far superior Chipotle which opened across the street, or the nearby Cilantro Taqueria in Tremont.”
“I ordered food online for myself and my mom and was really disappointed. I requested brown rice but received white rice instead, and the sour cream was missing. The rice portion was very small and tasted reheated and overcooked. The chicken also tasted reheated and had no real seasoning — just mixed with some type of hot sauce. Overall, the food was bland and not prepared with care. This was not the quality I expected”
