What reviewers say about Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront
People say this city park offers scenic trails, sandy beaches, and great picnic areas. They highlight the beautiful views of Lake Erie and downtown Cleveland, as well as the abundant wildlife, including birds and deer. They also like the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, and the well-maintained trails and facilities.
“It was the first sunny and warm day we’d seen in Cleveland since we had arrived a few days before. It was nice to get out in this beautiful and well kept park. Lots of people but it didn’t seem crowded. Joggers and walkers. Single folks, couples holding hands and families enjoying the day. Lots of good parking and extra wide sidewalks. For the adventurous (like me😁 and several others) try walking on the large slab rocks along Lake Erie shoreline. Where the water laps gently at times or splashes wildly against the rocks. Watch out or you’ll get wet!!”
“This is a nice 1.5 mile walk through a bird sanctuary going right along lake erie with some beautiful views over the lake and of downtown Cleveland”
“First visit and I accidentally drove into the department of defense or whatever is right next to this. Bear to your LEFT on the way in to avoid my mistake. Incredible birding. Great views of the lake. There's a kiosk with some neat info about the creation of the park. Parking is easy by the building. Walk to the kiosk then go through the turning cage-y gate thing, looks sketchy. I wish that wasn't there because it gives a weird feel to the entrance of the park. Once you're inside it's a big elevated loop with some cross paths. Very nice with some obvious management work being done for invasives. Edited to add: lots of deer- and pretty used to seeing people. We saw a few bedded down that didn't bother getting up. The whole park has fences/barriers around it. Walk on the path to the left around the side of building to find the kiosk and entrance. No access to the water from what I could see. There are way finding signs throughout.”
