Courtyard by Marriott Cleveland Westlake: Cleveland Hotel Guide

“This was a fairly standard Courtyard Marriott apart from the standard of cleanliness, professionalism of the staff, and poor quality of wifi and outlets. The beds were comfortable and the hotel has a pool, fitness center, and cafe. The outlets in my room did not work but luckily we were able to charge electronics in the lobby. Neither my computer nor phone would connect to the guest wifi. The screen to input a password would not even load. The pool was enjoyable but in need of a clean. There were multiple false eyelashes and gum on the floor throughout the pool room. The shower curtain in our room had mold but the room was otherwise clean. In the morning multiple guests had trouble finding a staff member to order food from the cafe. During the morning staff had multiple loud unprofessional conversations in front of guests using inappropriate language. While there were few guests in the lobby, I recommend a review of professionalism. Neither good nor bad but the cafe does not accept cash. For $127/night, I would expect better from Marriott.”

“Booking a stay at a Courtyard is always a gamble. Some properties are in top shape and really impressive, while others can be a little bit long in the tooth. This one is definitely in the ladder realm. The staff was super nice though, which I always appreciate. However, seeing such a nasty shower head when you are in your birthday suit is absolutely disgusting. They was also clearly still toothpaste residue on the wallpaper from previous guests. This is not a failing of housekeeping, but of management and ownership for not holding their employees accountable. Regular inspection of every room should be standard SOP. This really made me wonder what else the management and owners are missing at this property. What other bio residues are lurking in each room? Not to mention the sink missing a drain cover, a measly 32-in "HDTV" in your room, as well as the window missing the sheer curtain. The latter meaning you're either in complete darkness or in fear of people gawking into your room. In my opinion for $200 a night, you can stay in plenty of other hotels that offer more value and the cleaner environment.”

“My child found three different pills by our bed! There were gummy bears and m&m's beside the bed and in the bathroom. The wifi did not work and all the staff did was give us a 1-800 number to call and they still couldnt resolve the wifi issue. The ac/heat unit could not be adjusted temperature wise or fan wise at all. We had to completely move the couch to pull the bed out because you couldn't get it out with where it was beside the queen bed. The light under the tv didnt work. Most of the outlets didnt work either. Staff was very dismissive and didnt seem to even be bothered by any of the issues. Whole place was very worn and dated. No complimentary breakfast. No microwave in rooms. Our other child found a cup of liqour and a beer bottle beside the pool when we took them to swim and no one else was in the pool room! For the price of this hotel, I could have stayed an entire week at a motel and had a better stay!”
