I had my wedding at SV in October 2025. The property and venue are so beautiful, especially in the Fall. No complaints about venue appearance, cleanliness, layout, etc. Our wedding was a success with no issues to be reported. However, SV’s team was difficult to work with at times during the planning stages. I mainly worked with Hallie, the venue coordinator, and had a pretty good experience with her. I also worked a bit with Jennifer, a co-owner of the venue. There was a lack of communication amongst the three of us with the contract, questionnaire, and other random details surrounding the wedding. The biggest hiccup was bartender tipping. The contract I signed when booking the venue in January of 2024 stated $2/guest for bartender tips. Nothing else was listed or stated about bartender tips. You also have to complete a questionnaire that can be edited I think a week or so up until your wedding day. There was a question asking what you would prefer for bartender tips: $4/guest to be invoiced to bride & groom and NO tip jar on the bar, $2/guest and couple is fine with having tip jar out, or couple’s discretion to tip after event concludes. Since the $2/guest was already on the contract I had signed at booking, I went ahead and selected that option, not really thinking about the other options. Fast forward we’re about a week out and I mention the tip jar to my parents and decided I would ask SV to please remove the tip jar from the bar. To put money into perspective, we paid for the super premium bar package and had 2 bottles of wine at each dinner table for a total of 172 adults, so call it total for alcohol about $9100 + $344 in already paid out bartender tips from us. Also, just a guess, even without a tip jar out and visible to guests, the bartenders would still be getting tips from guests unless they have a policy that bartenders aren’t allowed to accept tips unless the jar is out. Jennifer gets back to me and refers to the questionnaire about bartender tips and if I want the tip jar removed from the bar, then we will receive an invoice for another $2/guest making it a total of $4/guest. Miscommunication on my end as I did select this option on the questionnaire, but NOTHING of these options were explained in the contract that I signed before even having access to the questionnaire and the $2/guest tip was already on the contract. Hallie and my personally hired wedding coordinator discussed this via phone and my coordinator did express how those options should be spelled out in the actual contract, not just the questionnaire. My whole point as a bride who was stressed planning her wedding is this, SV should have been clear from the start in their contract about the bartender tipping options. They express on their website how they pride themselves on no hidden fees and again, as a stressed bride, that was a hidden fee of sorts. I’ve read through a handful of their google reviews and would have to agree with one stating how they “nickel & dime” couples for everything. All in all, we spent over $21,000 for this venue. They charge you to use their arch for your ceremony ($75), a fee to have your ceremony onsite ($750), alcohol the wedding party wants to have while getting ready (two 12-packs of highnoons was $94) and a $2000+ service charge. Invoices also needed corrected multiple times with mistakes that were found by me and my coordinator. I honestly could not imagine doing this without my coordinator and she acted as a great buffer between myself and SV. They were accommodating with the parking situation and allowed guests to leave their cars overnight if needed. Again, my wedding day was perfect, and I did not have complaints the day of, however the planning process was a little less than desirable. I am aware it is very expensive to have a traditional wedding, but if the couple is spending upwards of $20k on the venue and alcohol, the planning process should be smooth sailing all around.

We just had our daughter's wedding at Sun Valley this past Friday, 8/29. We cannot say enough about how beautiful the venue and grounds are, and the staff were exceptional. We worked with Hallie and Tyler, and both were extremely helpful and very quickly responded to our inquiries and requests. This is the perfect spot for a wedding!

Beautiful place for a wedding! The inside is a nice, neutral style that looks great with any decoration theme. The venue is spacious and has two bars, as well as a patio area. The pond and gazebo area provides an excellent place to take photos. The bridal suite was great and the bathrooms were clean. A suggestion is to have a "groom" area as well to complement the bridal suite. While our experience with the venue itself was great, the communication with the staff and owners could be better. We found ourselves stuck waiting for answers to questions. Some associates had a tough time getting the invoices correct, leading to some frustrations. I expect the communication will get better over time as the associates learn better attention to detail.
